Movie Synopsis

Green Book is a movie about a talented African-American pianist who sets off on a tour in the Deep South in the early 60's. He hires a white Italian-American bouncer to serve as his driver and protection. While they form a bond during their travels, they encounter multiple forms of racism and bigotry. This movie gives a powerful perspective on how racism was prominent to Black musicians. Dr. Don Shirley, the pianist played by Mahershala-Ali, has his experienced juxtaposed to his bouncers performance, and it sheds light on a true-story that is often misrepresented.
